Our theme for the night was "Journeys".
The Toastmaster for the evening was Andrew who was ably supported by Sarah. Sarah is the first person to be involved with our new system designed to help ease newer members into the Toastmaster role. Feedback indicated that it was a success and Sarah thought it was a great experience as well.
We had two Ice Breaker speeches. San was first speaker and told us of his overseas background and journey to Australia. All eyes were glued to him as he shared his amazing story. Ron shared with us his journey of life as an Engineer. One story shared was the time he travelled on a Hercules aircraft. The steward spent time searching the cabin for cracks with a torchlight.
Leigh gave her ninth speech. She told us of her journey to Israel for physiotherapy treatment and her subsequent return to Australia with more determination and thankfulness.
Simon Y continued the theme with his table topic questions. Thanks must go to Simon for taking on the role at short notice. Simon S won best table topic of the evening in his speech on his Toastmaster Journey.
Rob returned as a guest for the second time and had a great time. We look forward to seeing him again.
Rodney returned to say farewell. Unfortunately for us, he is moving to Queensland with work. He'll be missed but hopefully will still visit whenever he's back in Melbourne.
San won Best Speech Content and Performance of the Night, Leigh won Best Speech Delivery and Deborah won Best Evaluator.
